Secret Recipe Revealed - Fabulous Fudge
Here is another heavily requested recipe from my wife's kitchen. My kids wish that she would make this more than once per year, but she wants to keep it special by being a December treat. You can get a version of this recipe off the Marshmallow Fluff container ("Never Fail Fudge"), but this is the original which my wife and her brothers have been making since they were teenagers (a few years ago).
Marshmallow Fluff Fudge
5 cups sugar
Can of Evaporated Milk (about 13 ounces)
1/4 lb. butter
12 ounces Marshmallow Fluff
1 tsp. salt
Combine ingredients in heavy sauce pan; bring to boil while stirring constantly; slowly boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly. (Be sure it is actually boiling before beginning the 5 minutes.) You may get specks of carmalization as you cook this, but just keep stirring.
Remove from heat and immediately stir in
1 tsp. vanilla
24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts (optional)
Stir thoroughly. Pour into two buttered 9 by 9 inch pans and cool on racks.
Make this a new family holiday tradition!
