The Villages Florida Area Real Estate: Moving with Children Part 2

Moving with Children Part 2

Moving with Children Part 2things to do in CT

One of the best things to do when moving to a new location is find exciting places for the kids to go to when they get there.   When we moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, my wife purchased annual passes to the Indianapolis Zoo and the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.  My wife and kids practically lived there, and the kids learned so much!

Here in Cheshire, we have a fantastic toy museum, Barker Character, Comic and Cartoon Museum (associated with the Barker Animation Art Gallery on Route 10).  This is a great spot for youngsters, teens, parents, and grandparents to share as they have toys things to do in CTand memorabilia that all will remember and get excited about.  We also have nearby amusement parks, really cool places for the dinosaur lovers (Peabody Museum and the Rocky Hill Dinosaur Park), and Art and History Museums.

So find out what your new area has to offer, and make a point of checking some out during a house hunting trip if that is at all possible.  Here are more Connecticut Attractions ideas.

Moving with children is a great idea for a series of posts.  Home sellers do need these tips.

Chris, LOL, I am all excited about this series... thanks! Some of these places I didn't know about, and they might be just the things for a very active and curious grandson...

Hi Chris,

Great series.  Moving can be hard for kids.  When our kids were little, we moved from a townhouse to a single family house within the same boundaries of our elementary school.  Could we have made a less stressful move?  Nevertheless, my son who was five at the time kept asking for months to move back to the townhouse.  We had lots of wonderful memories and friends there (who we still saw all the time but it wasn't the same as living next door to them).  A father/son project of building a treehouse was the only thing that snapped him out of it.

Hi Roy - Thanks for stopping by and leaving a flower!

Hi Andrea - Glad to help you out!  There are lots of cool places for kids if you look a bit.  Believe me, you will enjoy Barker Museum as much as your grandchildren!

Hi Lisa - It is true that even a local move can be stressful for kids.  When their best friend lives next door and then it becomes a 15 minute drive, that can mean so much more than we even imagine.

Hi Toni - Thanks for stopping by!
