The Villages Florida Area Real Estate: My Garden is Blooming (Well, my Inside Garden, Anyway)

My Garden is Blooming (Well, my Inside Garden, Anyway)

My Garden is Blooming (Well, my Inside Garden, Anyway)

My outside garden still has a ways to go before anything will start blooming there, but yesterday morning I happened to notice that my clivia had the beginnings of a bloom!  On closer inspection I discovered that there are actually three blooms about to happen (five plants in this large pot), so I should have some interesting photos to share over the next week or two.  Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

These pictures are beautiful, glad to see signs of Spring!

I just love the spring time Chris. These are some great shots. I know you will enjoy it more when all your snow is gone.

Hi Larry - Looking for Spring wherever I can find it!  : )

Hi Jerry - Thanks.  I will certainly enjoy getting outside to work in my gardens!

Those are gorgeous flowers, Chris.  At first I thought they were Freezias, but they are much larger than that.  They have a wonderful color.

Chris - I also want to CONGRATULATE you on having this blog FEATURED in the PHOTOS group!

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat, Greater Sacramento Real Estate Agent (GreatWest Realty) almost 8 years ago

Hi Myrl - THANK YOU for the feature!!  This clivia was given to me by my mother-in-law who shared my love of plants.  She told me how to take care of it, but I did everything in reverse of what she said.  Seems it took to me anyway--she would be proud!

Great shots. You are now on a roll for spring flower photographs. I would rather take pictures of flowers than snow.

Life is good when there are flowers to photograph!

Thought you might enjoy the unusual coloring of this dahlia.

Absolutely Roy!  I'll take flowers any day over snow!

Wow Roy - Where in the world did you find a dahlia like that?

Chris, these are beautiful, you really have a green thumb!

Hi Joan - You need to have a green thumb when you live in a climate where 6 months out of the year your only flowers are inside. : )

Chris,

Gorgeous blooms and what a beautiful color with the orange and yellow.  Colors of the sun are my favorite and I use those colors a lot in my staging.  It makes everything warm up when I use oranges, yellows and reds.  I'm really happy you have some color popping up!  BTW...  I think your Mother-in-Law would be proud!!!

Hi Linda - This plant has brought us endless joy since it was given to us.  It seems to bloom MUCH more often than it is supposed to, which makes us all extremely happy.  But to get three blooms going at the same time, this is something for the record books!

What great photos Chris, so nice that you can have such beautiful flowers indoors during these winter months.

Good morning Chris, thank you for sharing such beautiful flowers with us.

Have a great day!

Hi Steve - Thanks.  I have to have an inside garden--need green somewhere.  : )

Hi Joshua - You are very welcome.

Hi Chris, I used to have quite a few of these plants but I had never thought to pot raise them inside. They love shade and their  orange color is quite wonderful.

Hi William - My mother-in-law told me they love shade.  I put them in one of my sunniest windows (VERY sunny--when the sun comes out), and they took off!  Maybe they love shade in San Diego--in Connecticut they need all the sun they can find!  : )

Hi Ann, Thanks--I'm hoping the next batch starts blooming soon so I can add some more of these pictures!

Hi Mark - Yes, the sun was shining when I took these shots.  Not so much today and tomorrow.  : (

Hello Chris! Donna sent me over to check out your photos and I am so glad that she did! I can look at photos all day long!

Hi Joni - I'm glad you enjoy my pictures.  I got my hands on a better camera for a few days, so there are some even better photos coming of this Clivia plant!  Thanks for letting me know that Donna had given me a shout-out.  I haven't had too much time to post and comment this past week, so I missed her post!!
